Recently did a presentation on present awareness at a local senior home. I spoke for about 45 minutes. I tried to do a meditation to start off, but was unable to. The room was near a high traffic area and residents kept coming in and out. So I simply spoke and talked about letting go, love and who we are truly.
I spoke about how even when the mind does not work right, there is a something there that knows this, what is that something? I spoke about depression, in the same way, something watches depression, there is a full whole part of you that knows you are depressed. This is the part that illuminates depression, lets find it, and be more of it.
I went on and read poems and spoke more, always speaking from the place of open peace, offering it in all my words and being.
I notices, Phil, the old brain heavy lawyer closing his eyes and resting into the talk. He usually argues with me. I noticed a woman who came in sit an smile, when she arrived at first she was upset. I noticed also many of the residents just basking in the sunshine of the message and words and energy of the room now.
It didn't matter what I said. There were integrating with the vibration I opened and spoke from. There faces changed, their bodies sat more comfortable. One resident told me she wants to practice this after I leave. She liked what I had to say.
I read poems from Walt Whitman, Rumi and Shakespear, and told stories of how love opens and mirrors itself as other people. We spoke of life, answered each others questions. It was a moment of wholeness, no mind, no thoughts no worries.
Just this....
